New Electric Bicycle ‘Ride Scoozy’ Makes Your Eco-friendly Commute Easier

Ann Arbor, MI - On May 12th, 2013 Mechanical Engineer Jason Habeger launched a Kickstarter campaign to redefine the electric bicycle with his latest invention, ‘Ride Scoozy.’

This new invention challenges existing electric bicycle products by offering longer battery life, a more robust motor that is capable of speeds of up to 18 mph, ergonomic grips, e-bike specific saddles, and comes in at a reasonable early-adopter price. 

Having already raised $2,498 in the first three days, ‘Ride Scoozy’ is a testament to the growing eco-friendly commuter community that is seeking viable alternatives to current environmentally harmful modes of transport. The campaign has managed to raise this amount from its “perks” or “rewards” that early supporters receive in exchange for pledging funds. Some of these include the ability to own both the original ‘Ride Scoozy’ and an updated version with enhanced power output, a higher tip speed, and a specially designed saddle.

Whether it’s commuting to work, going to school, or exploring the outdoors, electric bicycles are growing in popularity due to their per-mile cost savings and environmental benefits. Up until now, electric bicycles have been held back due to a high cost of ownership, but more and more, the cost of this new mode of transport is decreasing, of which the ‘Ride Scoozy’ is a great example.
