Great Coffee Atmosphere is… Behind the Orange Door

We sit in crowded spaces because that is all that is available to us. Orange Door is changing that. We want our coffee shop to be a place where you feel the freedom to dream.

Tired of coffee ‘mills’ pumping out lousy coffee as worker-bees shoot past? The new Orange Door wants you to stop for a minute and take life in. When’s the last time you sat and stared blissfully into a perfect cappuccino foam? Or maybe enjoyed a Fair Trade dark roast from Kenya?

Orange Door is a coffee shop committed to having a friendly vibe that beckons writers, artists and students to enjoy, not just slurping coffee down as fast as possible – but the ambience.

Orange Door will offer finely crafted Fair Trade coffee that will make you want to linger. As the Orange Door Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign states bluntly, “Coffee needs a face lift.” Orange Door plans to change the way coffee breaks are defined. “We sit in crowded spaces because that is all that is available to us. Orange Door is changing that. We want our coffee shop to be a place where you feel the freedom to dream.”

The owners are counting on the help of literally hundreds of coffee lovers – locally and around the globe – to help fund their practical and well-thought out Indiegogo campaign. The ultimate goal may seem ‘lofty’ but good coffee machines and a functioning restaurant with proper licensing isn’t cheap.

The plan is to build up as donations come in via ‘stages’ (from $5k to the ‘tipping point of $12k), right up to $50,000 when the doors can be flung open for all to enjoy. “The concept is having a space where artists and writers alike will come side by side to create.” Orange Door coffee also promises to have a space for students to study, and even a little spot for kids to call their very own (hello stroller-mamas!).

Coffee connoisseurs will find a heady mix of practical (a pound of coffee, anyone?) to increasingly exotic perks for donors. Check out the other perks that are perfect for writers and dreamers (you and friends on your list). Even the smallest donation of $5 will earn you a “High Five” and for $50, you will receive a hand designed World Map Moleskin Journal. For a little more you can have a trend-setting T-shirt (and gratitude). Just $250 will get you a hand painted World Map made up of 6 canvases – and the bonus of knowing you helped them on their way big time! Want to name your own drink? For just $500 here’s your chance. Talk about a clever PR coup for your local business.

As the campaign site says, “Coffee: It is a lot more than just a drink. Coffee is a catalyst for community, creativity, love, dreams and so much more.” Even if you can’t donate, just help spread the word to all the coffee lovers in your networks.
