Cage-Free Overnight Dog Boarding Growing In Popularity

More pet resorts holding “Overnight Slumber Parties” for dogs

Denver, CO ( SharewellNewswire.com ) September 19,2012 – Villa La Paws, a nationally franchising pet resort featuring cage-free dog daycare, boarding and grooming, is responding to an increasing demand for a new breed of overnight boarding that eliminates traditional cages and kennels. Instead, dogs are invited to an “Overnight Slumber Party” where they sleep in a natural, home-like environment on comfy cots with warm blankets, get plenty of love and human interaction (even during the night) and have non-stop play with other dogs before bedtime and when they wake up.

It’s a new concept that’s changing the way dog owners are boarding their pets.  “People travel so much these days and they don’t like the idea of locking their dog in a cage at night,” says ‘Top Dog’ Eileen Proctor, owner of Villa La Paws-Castle Rock and nationally known pet lifestyle expert.  “Having your dogs sleep in a large, open room, with comfortable cots and beds but without cages or kennel runs, reduces stress for the dog AND the owner.  It’s like a home away from home.”

The idea of cage-free boarding is becoming more popular nationwide as more pet owners make dogs true members of their family.  Villa La Paws originated this revolutionary service in its Phoenix, AZ resorts more than five years ago, and is now bringing the idea to Colorado, with its first out-of-state franchise.  The company plans to expand to more than 200 resorts .within the next 10 years

The cage-free overnight boarding includes 24/7 supervision.  There is someone on staff round-the-clock to monitor, play with and comfort the dogs.  “It makes for a very safe and stress-free environment that both dogs and their owners feel good about,” says Proctor.  The idea is to eliminate common problems that can happen when boarding your pet overnight, such as separation anxiety and stress.  Dogs are pack animals and feel safer and more at ease when they’re among other dogs. When they’re confined to a cage and forced to sleep, it can often result in stress, depression or even a refusal to eat.

At Villa La Paws, cage-free boarding is limited to social dogs that have been spayed or neutered and are up to date on all vaccinations.  Customers can call to schedule a free temperament evaluation to see if their dog is a good match for the overnight slumber party.  For more information please visit:www.villalapaws.com/castlerockco.html  or call 303-660-5691.
