The Brad Hasler Memorial Fund Seeks Contributions for Silent Auction as Part of First Annual Charity Golf Tournament

The Brad Hasler Memorial Fund encourages local businesses and individuals to support fundraising efforts by donating goods and services for the post-tournament silent auction.

In preparation for a day of celebration and remembrance, The Brad Hasler Memorial Fund is seeking contributions for a silent auction to be held after the first annual charity golf tournament on July 19, 2014. Donations of all types are encouraged and proceeds will support an established Memorial Trust Fund. Captain Brad Hasler was very passionate about education and the trust fund will honor this cause. The proceeds will not only go toward putting his three daughters through college, but will also provide a college scholarship for an aspiring aviator.

Captain Brad Hasler was a civilian military contractor who passed away in 2013 when the plane he was in went down shortly after take-off in Afghanistan. His wife, Robin, and father, Bill, wanted to honor his memory and give back to the community in a meaningful way. Since golfing was an activity that he enjoyed, Hasler’s father thought that an annual charity golf tournament would be fitting. Not only will it bring together the community as well as friends and family, it would raise funds for higher education. Captain Hasler was a 1996 graduate of Gabriel Richard Catholic High School in Riverview, Michigan, and the annual scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior from his alma mater.

The golf tournament will kick off at 9a.m. at Willow Metro Park, and the celebratory party will begin around 3p.m. Part of the after-party and fundraising efforts is a silent auction. The Brad Hasler Memorial Fund is seeking contributions for the auction to generate interest from attendees and support a worthy cause. They welcome donations of products or services, gift baskets, event tickets, sports memorabilia, or any other items that companies or individuals would like to provide.

“We are looking to create a wonderful experience for attendees while raising money for a cause that Brad was passionate about,” says Robin Hasler. “Not only will auction winners get to take home a great prize, they know that they are supporting the education of a graduating senior to follow their dreams, and eventually helping our children to pursue a college education as well.”

In addition to the golf tournament and silent auction, there will also be food, drinks, dancing, children’s activities, and raffles. It is set to be a fun-filled day with activities that appeal to the entire family and bring the community together for a great cause and to celebrate Captain Hasler’s life and memory. Individual tickets to the post-tournament party are available for $15.00.

Anyone interested in donating goods or services for the silent auction or registering for the event can contact Robin Hasler for more information.
