Over 45 years later, a Salsa Band brings back the concept of orchestra with a unique musical structure featuring the vocalist Mayte Perez whose clear and powerful voice and delivery style can only be matched to that of the Queen of Salsa Celia Cruz. This novel group created in San Juan, Puerto Rico by Mr. Ihosvany Negret has members whose career included the Conjunto of Johnny Pacheco and the Primerisima Orquesta de Tommy Olivencia among other iconic groups. The market launch of its first album entitled "Moña Pa’ Mi Bongo" is highlighted by the participation of excellent international musicians as: Pancho Amat (Tres, Cuba), Prodigy Claudio (Four, Puerto Rico), Yturvides Vilches (Trumpet, Venezuela), Elias Lopes (Trumpet, Puerto Rico), Ramon Vazquez (Bass, Cuba) and the voices of two singers from the Sonora Ponceña: Hector "Pichie" Perez and Darvel Garcia Perez, among others.
Ihosvany Negret, founder, director, musical producer and main composer of the band focused all his energy in creating a musical concept that is characterized by the fusion of the explosiveness of New York’s Salsa with the cadence of Cuban’s Son. The clear and powerful voice of the Cuban vocalist Mayte Perez and the vast experience of ten incredibly talented musicians, position Conjunto Sabrosura as one of the new revelations of the Latin music movement in general.
