After a long, lengthy investigation from agencies including the hospital where he works, Jason Mark Eggleston, 37, is accused of five offences under the Customs Act, the Criminal Code and the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. The Canada Border Services Agency has charged him with importing anabolic steroids for the purpose of trafficking.
Eggleston has officially been charged with five offenses, according to the Canada Border Services Agency. Those charges include possession with and dealing a controlled substance, and trafficking.
Numerous websites list Eggleston as a local bodybuilder, registered nurse, personal trainer, and health and fitness consultant. He is also listed as the owner and president of X2X Clothing Canada, which lists a mailing address on Henderson Highway. The company caters clothing to bodybuilders and “fitness enthusiasts.”
“Smuggling and importing controlled substances is a criminal offence, and the CBSA takes this issue very seriously,” says Lauren Delgaty, regional director general for the prairie region in a release. “The CBSA will investigate and prosecute those engaging in illegal cross-border activity to the full extent of the law.”
Eggleston will appear in Winnipeg provincial court January 13.
