The Scientific Journal of Functional Foods in Health and Disease

The Journal of Functional Foods in Health and Disease (FFHD) is a peer- reviewed open access journal that covers various aspects of functional foods, bioactive compounds, and chronic disease management and prevention. It strives to develop concepts that aid in the understanding of the mechanisms of chronic disease and the creation of specific functional and medicinal food formulations for the prevention and management of those diseases.

Dallas, TX, USA (July 26, 2013) -- The Functional Food Center (FFC), located close to Dallas, Texas, USA, strives to promote and advance research in functional foods and bioactive compounds as potential agents for the management and prevention of chronic diseases such as cancer, diabetes, and hypertension. In 2010, the FFC established the scientific journal of Functional Food in Health and Disease (FFHD). This journal is unique because of its open-access structure. Every article includes the full-text, and is specifically focused on the latest collective research and product development related information in the realm of functional foods, bioactive compounds, and chronic disease management and prevention. The FFHD journal now contains close to 100 articles; many of these are research articles, which present the backgrounds, methods, results, and discussions from research studies performed by numerous international top-level experts in microbiology, chemistry, immunology, food science, and food product development! The FFC is happy to provide this journal as an excellent resource for PhD students, professors, food industry professionals, food scientists, and food product developers looking for articles specifically relating to functional foods and bioactive compounds. These articles can be valuable aids for research as well as food product development. Below are several of our most recently published articles for the month of July!
